About the Artists
Doug Bauer
Doug Bauer is a Tulsa-based painter whose bold abstractions burst with color, rhythm, and emotional truth. A mostly self-taught artist influenced by Hans Hofmann, Richard Diebenkorn, and Willem de Kooning, Bauer took up painting in 1999 after a previous career in acting, during which he appeared in film and TV alongside well-known performers. His work, now represented by 1515 Lincoln Gallery, examines the “push and pull” of color and texture, drawing viewers into a personal journey of energy, depth, and connection.
Marie Weltzheimer
Marie Kash Weltzheimer is an Oklahoma-based representational artist whose career has flourished since 1988, known for her luminous pastel and oil paintings inspired by music, nature, and the beauty of everyday life. A Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America and Master Circle Honoree with the International Association of Pastel Societies, her award-winning work has been exhibited nationwide and internationally, featured in major publications, and collected widely. Whether through her lyrical, music-inspired portraits or symbolic still life reflecting themes of family and belonging, Marie’s art invites viewers into a world of color, harmony, and human connection.
Evguenia Novakova Cornejo
Eve Cornejo is a Russian-born, Southwest Oklahoma–based artist whose journey from engineering and accounting to painting showcases a lifelong devotion to creativity. Working in oil with a contemporary realism style, she captures fleeting moments of connection, atmosphere, and emotion—whether through intimate portraits, evocative still life works, or landscapes inspired by her travels across Europe, South America, and Africa. Her award-winning work, including a Best of Show award at the Chisholm Trail Arts Council, has been featured in regional exhibitions and publications, encouraging viewers to reflect on culture, memory, and the beauty of human experience.
Brian Bosworth
Brian Bosworth is a sculptor and ceramicist working under the name BKB Ceramics. His work explores the boundary between the built environment and nature, merging the raw intensity of brutalist and minimalist design with the transient qualities of natural settings. Based in Joshua Tree, California, and Oklahoma City, he has been working professionally since 2002, exhibiting his pieces nationally and internationally, with artworks in private collections throughout the U.S. and abroad. Bosworth earned a B.A. from CSU Bakersfield and an M.F.A. from Claremont Graduate University. He previously ran a successful retail and gallery space in Joshua Tree and Palm Springs. Now, he balances his studio work with teaching at The Studio School and Deer Creek High School, encouraging dialogue among material, form, and meaning.
Edwin Weitz
Edwin Carter Weitz, an Omaha-based artist born in Council Bluffs in 1963, creates paintings that seamlessly blend figurative, landscape, and abstract styles, each rooted in his dedication to craftsmanship and clear concepts. After a lengthy career in advertising, his journey into fine art began when his wife gave him a box of oil paints, igniting a passion that has since led to solo exhibitions, juried shows, and international acclaim. Inspired by artists like Gerhard Richter and Richard Diebenkorn, Weitz treats each canvas as a chance to explore ideas, blending precision with curiosity to craft works that draw viewers into an experience of beauty, movement, and connection.
