ARTIST STATEMENT

My current body of work is about the natural connection the human soul has to nature. I decided to convey this idea through my sculptures which appear to be going through a metamorphosis bridging the divide between individual consciousness and a deeper connection to its natural birthplace. It is difficult to tell whether or not the sculptures are becoming more human and aware or less aware and more instinct driven thus, more natural. This question is explored through my creative process which is completely intuitive. Interestingly enough, the forms speak to me until they are finished and then they fall silent. Once this happens, I know the work can go no further and the piece is done. In this way they speak to my inner person and guide me to completion and a creative resolution.
