Celebrating the Familiar and the Forgotten
Bavarian Boy in Landscape by Rudolf Wimmer
1515 Lincoln Gallery’s latest exhibition, Found Treasures: Visionaries and Hidden Gems, showcases an eclectic mix from the gallery’s extensive Found Art Collection. The exhibition features works by celebrated visionaries such as Joan Miró, George Segal, and Albrecht Dürer, alongside compelling pieces by lesser-known artists, offering visitors a rich exploration of diverse styles and themes.
Curated by art historian and museum professional Elizabeth Wylie, the exhibition showcases how art from different periods and styles—whether abstract or representational, landscapes or figures—can coexist in a conversation that transcends time. Wylie explains, “We were looking to bring together a diverse array of artists and styles to show how art of wildly different styles and subject matter can coexist and speak to one another.”

Prints are also a central highlight of the exhibition, which includes works ranging from Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer to modern masters like Picasso and Miró. “Prints can be a very accessible entry into art collecting,” Wylie notes, offering an invitation for both seasoned collectors and those new to the art world.
Art enthusiasts won’t want to miss the opportunity to hear directly from curator Elizabeth Wylie. On Saturday, February 15, from 1–2 pm, Wylie will share insights into her curatorial process and behind-the-scenes stories about the making of Found Treasures.
