My minimalistic style is not based solely on reduction, but involves a bit of modification, layering, and subtraction with both a painterly and sculptural approach. It is a physically labor-intensive and intuitive process where I preserve the happy accidents and focus on developing surface structure, form and color variations until I find balance. I push paint, sand layers, drag pencils, rip paper, and manipulate the materials until I find something interesting.
