CELEBRATE ART WITH US THIS JUNE

June brings many exciting events and artful opportunities to the gallery. We invite you to explore our newest exhibition with Seattle-area artist Janice Tayler, “Wading Through Cracks of Gravity.” In this vibrant, color-filled show, Tayler debuts a collection of work depicting abstract landscapes crafted from fragmented memories and fleeting moments in time. These works are imbued with layers of meaning and push the boundaries of traditional landscape painting. See the exhibition now through Saturday, July 13.

Please also mark your calendars for an all-day pop-up event on Saturday, June 22. Since 2021 and the fall of Afghanistan to Taliban rule, we have been working with a very special Afghan entrepreneur, Hasina Aimaq. Hasina will travel from her new home in Toronto to Oklahoma City to be with us on June 22 for the pop-up show featuring jewelry, textiles, and clothing crafted by 13 women entrepreneurs still living in Afghanistan. Our ongoing initiative with Hasina is called ‘The Afghan Project,’ and we will be carrying their work for sale in the gallery and in our online store. Hasina will share her story of escape and The Afghan Project with 1515 Lincoln Gallery to assist these women. All proceeds from sales return to the women.

This month, we are also featuring the work of Budapest artist Erekle Chinchilakashvili, with a special 20% discount on his work through the rest of the month. Erekle’s landscapes, still lifes, and portraits explore the human condition through references to various historical narratives. Come in and peruse his work in the gallery or explore his work through our online store.

We welcome you to enjoy the culinary arts in our art-filled 1515 Bistro for lunch each day, Tuesday through Saturday, from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Bistro Manager Olivia Eitzen serves up French-inspired creations from Buthion Fine Foods, with wine and charcuterie service all day until closing. Bring a friend and enjoy our outdoor cafe space on these beautiful late spring and early summer days! Or, let us know if you would like to book a special event in our gallery or bistro spaces.

Wishing you a wonderful and inspiring June! Join us all summer long and enjoy creativity and art as part of your everyday life.

Sincerely,
Susan McCalmont
