This December, 1515 Lincoln Gallery proudly presents My Relation with Life, a solo exhibition by artist Behnaz Sohrabian. The show features a diverse collection of pieces inspired by the artist’s daily encounters with the world, inviting viewers to explore her interpretations through floral still lifes, landscapes, and figurative works. Each piece captures a unique moment in Behnaz’s life that moved her to create art.
Reflecting on this latest series, Behnaz shares, “I am inspired by conversations with friends, social and political events, and even simple photographs. My work mirrors the ever-changing nature of life, capturing different feelings and ideas as they come to me.” She continues, “This exhibition is a journey through the varied and dynamic experiences that influence my art.”
Behnaz’s paintings capture fleeting moments of daily life, transforming them into vibrant compositions that serve as snapshots in time. Her interior still lifes feature thoughtfully arranged flowers rendered in soothing pastel tones, while her landscapes showcase nature’s vivid splendor. Her dynamic approach to painting highlights a sensitivity to color and the natural forms around us, encouraging viewers to appreciate the beauty in their surroundings. Additionally, her figurative works bring depth and emotion to her subjects, achieved through gestural brushstrokes and textured impasto surfaces.
