Susan McCalmont, Founder and Director

Art is a treasured part of human existence, and our relationship with it inspires founder and gallery director, Susan McCalmont. Susan's creative curiosity began in childhood and was further nurtured through studying art history at university. This early exploration evolved into forty years of experience leading nonprofit organizations that fostered creativity and advanced both the arts and community development.

For 20 years, she led the Kirkpatrick Foundation, initiating collaborative projects that had a lasting impact on Oklahoma’s arts education and cultural growth. Shortly thereafter, Susan launched and directed Creative Oklahoma, an organization focused on improving the economy and quality of life through creativity and innovation in education, commerce, and culture. Additionally, she developed strategies for societal change and organized international educational and networking events alongside prominent visionary Sir Ken Robinson. In 2012, she received the inaugural Sir Ken Robinson Creative Leadership Award.
