Echoes of Everyday Life: The Art of Behnaz Sohrabian
1515 Lincoln Gallery is excited to present My Relation with Life, a solo exhibition by Behnaz Sohrabian. This captivating collection invites viewers to step into Behnaz’s world, where everyday moments transform into stunning works of art.
In this latest series, Behnaz delves into the intricate fabric of life through floral still lifes, landscapes, and figurative pieces. Each painting reflects her unique perspective on the people, places, and events that inspire her. “I am inspired by conversations with friends, social and political events, and even simple photographs,” she explains. “My work mirrors the ever-changing nature of life, capturing different feelings and ideas as they come to me.”
Her work shines in its ability to turn the mundane into the extraordinary. In her floral still lifes, soft pastel tones create an atmosphere of serenity, while her landscapes burst with vibrant colors that bring the natural world to life. Her figurative works, on the other hand, delve deeper, using bold brushstrokes and textured layers to evoke raw emotion. Together, these pieces form a visual diary of her experiences and reflections.
Born in Kermanshah, Iran, Behnaz discovered her artistic passion early in life. By the age of 10, she had already begun her professional journey. With degrees in both science and art—including a Master’s in Art Studies—she brings a unique blend of precision and creativity to her work. Since immigrating to the United States in 2010, Behnaz has continued to develop her voice as an artist, becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2017.
My Relation with Life isn’t just an exhibition—it’s an invitation to see the world through Behnaz’s eyes. Her paintings serve as a reminder to pause, reflect, and appreciate the beauty in everyday life.
