Experience the work of Oklahoma-based artists Paul Medina and Sheridan Conrad as they present their show The Spaces In Between and Nature’s Cathedral.
The Spaces In Between
Paul Medina’s Spaces In Between series presents works from his new series and pieces he played with in between, making the connected artworks. Rarely shared with the public, the original art created during The Spaces In Between gives the viewer an intimate look at a unique process that often takes Medina several years and up to a decade to complete. Medina states, “I either tire of the imagery or medium and feel the need to explore, change and do something different.” Once a series ebbs, Medina focuses on playing creatively for a few months or years to introduce new materials and develop new imagery freely.
Nature’s Cathedral
Conrad’s Nature’s Cathedral reminds us to slow down our busy lives and pay full attention to the present. Conrad states, “My fondest hope is that the viewer will become more consciously aware of the beauty of Nature, its fragile balance with humankind, and how we should do everything in our power to maintain that equilibrium.” Conrad makes one-of-a-kind wearable pieces of art using ancient artisan techniques passed down for generations. Using no manufactured materials, the gemstones and metals she works with are respectfully and ethically sourced.
